necessary to maintain all high voltage electrical and peripheral
low voltage systems and equipment up to 115KV. Responsible for the
care of the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work.
Keeps Lead and Supervisor apprised of unique situations and
problems encountered. This position has a competitive wage along

ANSI compliant safety shoes. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions: /n - Performs a variety of
electrical trade functions such as installing, maintaining, or
repairing equipment for generating, distributing, or utilizing
electrical energy. /n - Installs or repairs any of a variety of
electrical equipment such as generators, transformers,
switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, and other
distribution equipment /n - Locates and diagnoses trouble in the
electrical distribution system. /n - Work involves laying out work
from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions. /n -
Installs and climbs poles and towers, services storage batteries
used for backup power source, performs evaluation of in-service
relays to detect failure of distribution lines and equipment. /n -
Works standard mathematical computations relating to load
requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. /n - Works and
assists other crafts and trades in their day-to-day operations. /n
- Operates switches to isolate and remove defective components for
repair. Installs and repairs overhead and underground power lines.
Installs, disconnects, removes and repairs electrical power meters.
/n - Installs conduit, wiring panels, breakers, and associated
equipment required for distributing both high and low voltage
circuits. /n - Respond to emergency situations during or after
hours, holidays and weekends for the purpose of resolving immediate
concerns. Be available on-call within one hour, after the
Governments request to respond to after-hours requests. Must be
able to work overtime as required. /n /n Accountable For: /n -
Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed on assigned
vehicles and in outlying facilities. /n - Inspects work to ensure
compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
/n - Actively supports the project Safety Plan through personal
involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and
attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to
particular trades or skills. /n - Performs duties in a timely,
accurate, and cost-effective manner. /n - Works closely and
harmoniously with fellow workers. /n - Performs other duties, in
and out of Trade, as assigned. /n Job Requirements Mandatory: /n -
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED). /n - Journeyman H.V.
Electrician with completion of a four (4) year technical training
program. Technical training may include an accredited technical
training program or recognized established apprenticeship program.
/n - Valid Commercial Driver's License with a Class B endorsement,
without a major violation or three or more incidents in the past 36
months. (WA license must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
/n - Communicate, both orally and in writing, in the English
language. /n - Verifiable work experience of at least three years
in an Operations & Maintenance services environment supporting a
military base or similar civilian installation. /n - Verifiable
work experience of at least five years' work experience as a High
Voltage Electrician. /n - A commitment to be on-call 24 hours/7
days on a rotational basis with a 1-hour response time requirement.
/n - Citizen of the United States. /n - Ability to successfully
pass a background check, drug test, and physical as required. /n -
Must have and demonstrate a Journeyman Electrician's knowledge and
ability to: /n /n /n 1. Identify high voltage circuits and how they
are applied. /n 2. Identify the trade specific equipment and be
able to verbally discuss how they are used. /n 3. Verbalize about
hazards encountered in manholes and appropriate duct bank safety.
/n 4. Demonstrate an ability to read blueprints, electrical
schematics, and one-line diagrams. /n 5. Must possess the ability
to troubleshoot streetlight circuits and repair same. /n 6. Must
possess the ability to properly use the Bucket truck and
Derrick/Digger truck. /n 7. Ability to perform periodic preventive
maintenance to electrical distribution equipment and associated
circuits. /n 8. Ability to splice high voltage cables. /n 9.
Ability to terminate high voltage cables. /n 10. Ability to install
transformers, switches, electrical meters and to test cables and
other high voltage equipment. /n /n Working Conditions: - Work is
performed in both an outdoor and indoor environment. Work may also
occur at heights in excess of 100 feet or in confined spaces. Work
will frequently be performed at construction sites, in trenches,
near and around aircraft, near moving machinery and energized
electrical equipment. /n Physical Requirements: /n - Frequent
standing, walking, driving. /n - Must be able to lift 75lbs and
team lift over 75lbs (average lift 30-40lbs). /n - Occasional
pushing/pulling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders. /n - Occasional
kneeling, squatting, bending, and twisting at the waist or reaching
above head. /n - Seldom crawling or repetitive arm/hand movement.
