The Role: Tesla Technical Training Instructor Mechatronics
This position requires someone who is flexible, highly organized,
and hard working. Individuals should have a passion for and
understanding of personal development through the training process.
Must have outstanding communication, presentation and
organizational skills while demonstrating a positive, motivational,
and professional appearance. The Tesla Technical Training
Instructor Mechatronics will take responsibility for developing
courses, mentoring Technicians and Engineers in areas of technical
knowledge focusing on the engineering of both electrical and
mechanical systems, and also includes a combination of robotics,
electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and
product engineering. To include procedures, and promoting
excellence in Maintenance and Engineering skills.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop basic and advanced technical content on a wide variety of
material for a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses
on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems,
Examples of these Multidisciplinary systems include a combination
of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, control,
and product engineering. Automation equipment systems which
include: Sensors and Actuators, discrete and integrated systems
operation, mechanical and electrical fundamentals of equipment
operation, discrete and integrated system troubleshooting, Closed
loop process control, Machine Vision, failure analysis and system
communication and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of: methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used
in both Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and repair of all
auto manufacturing automation equipment and processes.
Deliver Technical Training courses in classroom and field settings
using a variety of presentation formats including Instructor Led,
Facilitative group learning, active hands-on learning and
Provide evaluation of courses with written and hands-on
Provide comprehensive tracking of each Student s completed and
required training in Tesla specific Learning Management software
Extensive experience with manufacturing automation systems to
include robotics, PLC, VFD, Conveyors, Sensors and Actuators and
Extensive presentation skills with diverse advanced technical
content as described above.
Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and
peers within the Training, Maintenance and Engineering
Strong analytical problem solving skills and hands-on experience
with hardware, tools, instruments, and methods applicable to
manufacturing robotics processes.
Uses instructional media such as audio-visual (video, Power Point,
You Tube. ect.) and hands on equipment
Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical
Experience with environmental and safety requirements including the
Strong ability to work in cross functional groups from diverse
technical and experience backgrounds.
Skilled with common workplace and database software (Powerpoint,
Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
Occasional travel (approximately 10% annually) to develop emerging
content on new equipment used in the manufacturing process.
Familiarity with Objective based training theory, ADDIE process and
functional assessment settings a plus.
Familiarity or expertise with Learning Management Systems a
Preform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on maintenance or
engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing
environment with expertise in a wide variety of technical subjects
specializing in networks, PLC s and controls programming. This
subject matter expert will have a passion for teaching others and
achieving excellence through instruction and mentoring
