Manager, Fleet & Maintenance Management under the direct supervision of the Director of Base Operations, Ensure plans and actions pertaining to Fleet and Maintenance management, and equipment repair align with contract obligations, customer expectations, fiscal contraints, business objectives and federal, state, local, Department of Defense and Depot regulatory requiremetns at the Hawthorne Army Depot. Lead and manage staff, uphold company values (Safety, Diversity, Integrity and Success). Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.The Work You'll Be Doing:

  • Implementation of the maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet and equipment at the Hawthorne Army Depot. Evaluate work in progress and initiates corrective measures to accomplish established goals and objectives. Leads and manage the implementation of the maintenance control, vehicle/MHE/railroad equipment maintenance, infrustructure maintenance and ISR departments. Establishes and exercises control and oversight of the work schedules for assigned personnel and provides technical guidance as required. Evaluates work in progress and initiates corrective measures to accomplish established goals and objectives. Leads and manages staff of 4 or more direct reports.
  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Material Handling Equipment (MHE), railway equipment, locomotive, crane, tractor trailers. Initiate schedule changes to accomplish established goals and objectives. Through subordinates, provides for the planning, control and documentation of maintenance for all assets within the fleet and infrustructure departments. This includes scheduled, unscheduled and preventive maintenance. Provides service call and emergency maintenance and repair service for depot personnel and tenant support within contract limitations.
  • Identification of improvement opportunities; Work closely with the maintenance team to find ways to reduce down time due to repairs or lack of a routine maintenance while ensuring all paperwork associated with each asset is accurate and submitted to the proper department.
  • Create and maintain budget for Fleet & Maintenance Management Organization. Develop and track Capital Expenditure budget with the assistance from other department leaders. Responsible for the execution of the Capital budget once approved.
  • Responsible for completing all USG taskers, data calls, and/or any development and submission of reports and correspondence. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned.What You Need to Bring to the Table:
    • High School graduate or GED with Associate Degree or Higher prefered. Certifiable technical or trade training highly desireable.
    • Two (2) years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of government equipment taskers and regulations.
    • Should be able to obtain and maintain a valid State drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.
    • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.
    • Great attitude and team player.
    • Successful completion of background screening process.The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
      • Knowledge of MAXIMO, SQL, FMVRS, Excel and should be able to plan, analyze, monitor and maintain Equipment Maintenance Plan(s). For example, Government PMs, documents, maintenance schedules and installation status reviewer activities.
      • Knowledge of Company and governmental guidelines and regulations pertinent to the Prime Contract pertaining to Fleet Management & Equipment Repair. i.e., OSHA 29 CFR.1910, Nevada Department of Enviornmental Protection (NDEP), lead abatement, confined space, lock-out tag- out.
      • Ability to develop and train employees in the various technical and specialized areas of the MHE maintenance area. Knowledge of coordinating and/or providing safety, environmental responsibility and functional skill training in compliance with all safety rules and regulations to include vehicle registrations, insurance, motor carrier and Federal Motor Vehicle Registration System (FMVRS).
      • Must be able to communicate well, both written and oral. Experience establishing and maintaining a budget to include but not limited to the Extra Ordinary, capital expense, Maintenance and maintenance projects.
      • Must be able to operate a computer connected terminal device.Must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:
        • Visual acuity (e.g., needed to prepare and analyze data, to transcribe documents, to view a computer, to read, to inspect objects, to operate machinery.
        • Repetitive motion of any part of the body.
        • Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time.
        • Ability to read complex documents in the English language.
        • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
        • Ability to write complex documents in the English language.
