Your safety, health, family, work, entertainment---your whole life; that's our connection.Dura-Line is currently hiring for a highly skilled & experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join our Sparks, Nevada manufacturing sites. We need an experienced leader with over 5 years' experience in manufacturing operations, maintenance management, and project management to lead our maintenance techs by implementing a successful preventative maintenance program.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for initiating and implementing process improvements, preventing, and resolving technical problems, and assessing the capabilities of the processes. In addition, you will support the business continuity and business development by managing the local capital expenditure (CAPEX) program and developing a robust asset maintenance plan that includes preventative, predictive, and autonomous care processes. You will also assess manufacturing operations; develop, implement and continually improve processes operationally.
Your engineering background will come in handy as you will participate in the annual budget process to ensure CAPEX projects are followed for gathering bids/prices, writing protocols, assessing suppliers, coordinating contractors, managing budgets, overseeing installation and testing, completing documentation, and complying with safety protocols. You will develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and problems adversely impacting plant operations (safety, quality, customer service, cost, capacity). You will provide technical leadership in the improvement of manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment efficiencies, and product quality. You will be responsible for improvements in Equipment Effectiveness. You will be responsible for maintenance programs and duties such as mechanical, electrical and electrical controls while enhancing and rescoping the preventative maintenance system.
You are empowered to bring your skills and knowledge to develop key programs, influence the team and collaborate with other peers to execute & implement best practices. We need you to be "hands-on," proactive, and a go-getter that can provide subject matter expert level technical support to production, maintenance staff and technical personnel. We need someone with that is tech-savvy and knows how to use Microsoft office; ERP/SAP is a plus. You must be a solid user of Office 365 tools, SharePoint, Autocad 2D, and Solid Works.
As the new engineering & maintenance manager, you will be the steward of company assets, ensuring their full utilization by improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness. You will be responsible for managing the capital project and expenses (CAPEX) budget for the department and facility which includes the justification, secure funding, and execute using project management tools.
We need servant leader with strong project management and documentation skills to train and guide the team on new process implementation and drive a continuous improvement mindset and culture. You will need strong business acumen, lean manufacturing/continuous improvement/5S experience/ PFMEA project teams (lean certifications is a plus), experience managing annual budgeting processes, and managing capital projects of varied sizes and scopes.

A successful track record of managing large capital projects in a manufacturing environment, a strategic focus, and organizational skills to identify and prioritize the most critical and impactful issues and opportunities to drive long-term success. You must be able to synthesize data and summarize outcomes to provide recommendations on a compliant path forward. You must be safety-oriented & able to foster a safe culture. If you have an Engineering or relevant degree (preferably in chemical, industrial, mechanical engineering), at least 5 years of operations management experience in a manufacturing environment, including roles in maintenance leadership and a passion for lean principles and tools.
You must have excellent communication as it will require you to outline the process and manage the project and influence and engage employees. You must have empathy, be a respectful and humble leader. We are looking for a servant leader, creative thinker, and problem solver with strong organizational skills and excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, MS Project, or similar project management software), and experience using CMMS, ERP System (SAP is a plus) is required for this role. A background in developing a maintenance program and build an autonomous care program on both sites is key to being successful in this role.
