Job Description FUNCTION: Supervises Front Desk operations, checks guests in and out of the hotel, handles guest complaints, other duties assigned by Front Desk Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Follow established policies and procedures and be a role model for all staff. 2.Conduct self always in a professional manner that reflects positively on the Nugget and encourage others to do the same. 3.Maintain a neat appearance and interact with guests and co-workers in a friendly and courteous manner. 4.Proactively counsel, guide and instruct personnel in the proper performance of their duties, while ensuring policies and procedures are being followed and guest service is maximized. 5.Recommend changes where appropriate, create solutions and always be looking for ways to better the operation. 6.Monitor breaks and replace call-ins. 7.Keep informed of arrivals, departures, functions, conventions and events to effectively supervise shift. 8.Proactively offer assistance and attention to guests. Assist to expedite check-ins/outs to minimize guest inconvenience. Extend sincere, friendly and professional greetings to all. 9.Complete daily checklist so that all specifics are complete by end of shift. 10.Works closely with Front Desk Manager and front desk staff to ensure duties are complete (departures, discrepancies, airline reservations/envelopes, reports (credit, rooms revenue, arrivals, departures, etc.) special requests, mail and inventory management (blocking, room types, upgrades, etc.) 11.Closely monitor guest transactions to enhance service, accuracy and effectiveness. 12.Quickly react and follow through with guest and employee needs, in a professional and accommodating manner. 13.Receive guest complaints and take corrective action. 14.Communicate in verbal and written ways to fully apprise management and staff of any pertinent information. Ask questions and seek guidance. 15.Work closely with Casino Marketing, Sales, Motor Coach Sales, Housekeeping, Reservations, PBX and Security, etc. 16.Prepare and present employee evaluations or other written documentation in a timely and objective manner. 17.Document pertinent situations appropriately (i.e., pass on, employee files, incident reports, security reports, safety reports, etc. 18.Address guest concerns and or complaints in a timely and professional manner 19.Regular predictable attendance is required. 20.Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state and federal regulations. 21.Communicate effectively with all levels of the Nugget team and guests. 22.Perform work in a safe manner and maintain a safe environment for team member and guests. 23.Immediately report unsafe conditions and team member or guest incidents to a member of the management team or Security. 24.Maintain a positive and professional image when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourage others to do the same. 25.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Front Desk Manager MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION LEVEL: High School diploma or equivalent is required. LANGUAGE: Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language. EXPERIENCE: Prior Supervisory and leadership experience required. Minimum three (3) years of direct customer contact, in a front office environment required. Previous cash and credit card handling experience required SPECIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of hotel computer programs preferred. PHSYICAL DEMANDS ANDWORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to walk, stand, or sitfor long periods of time Ability to lift, move, push,pull items up to 40 lbs. Fine finger manipulation. Work environment may includesmoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels. Work may be performed indoorsand outdoors during special events.
