Job Description Job Description Salary: $101,500-$130,000 per
year POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Podiatrist-
Specialty Lead, the Physical Therapist (PT) coordinates the
evaluation, treatment and clinical activities in the provision of
physical therapy so that effective and optimum quality of patient
care is delivered. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Evaluates patients with a
full range of injuries, including musculoskeletal extremity
injuries, spine complications, neurological impairments, and pain.
Develops and implements complex treatment plans. Plans,
coordinates, and implements goal-oriented group and individual
physical therapy treatment programs. Instructs patients and
families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances.
Determines priority needs for physical therapy. Reports to
physician the patients reaction to treatment or changes in
condition. Initiates physical therapy programs and instructs other
personnel and/or family/caregiver members in certain phases of
physical therapy with which they may work with a patient. Provides
instructions and clarification of goals of the physical therapy
program for the patient by participating in case conferences.
Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries based on the
attainment of goals. Utilizes therapeutic modalities, such as air,
water, electricity, therapeutic massage, soft tissue mobilization,
and manual therapy. Educates and counsels patients and family
members on diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plans. Adheres to
protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for Physical
Therapy programs. Participates in discharge planning for patient.
Establishes effective relationships with patients and fellow
employees. Follows directions accurately and assumes responsibility
for updating skills as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must
possess a B.S. or B.A. degree from a school of Physical Therapy
(PT) with successful completion of clinical internship
requirements. Masters degree is preferred. Current and unrestricted
license as a physical therapist by the Board of Medical Examiners,
State of California is required. Current CPR and Basic Life Support
(BLS) certification is required. One year of professional
experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred. Experience
providing compassionate care and support to a diverse and
underserved population is essential. Knowledge and understanding of
physical therapy procedures and techniques required for providing
routine evaluations and treatments. Knowledge of geriatric and
general neurological rehabilitation techniques is beneficial.
Knowledge of infection control procedures is required. Knowledge of
proper body mechanics is required. Must possess the ability to
position and transfer dependent patients in and out of bed without
assistance. Good verbal, written communication and organization
skills are required. Must have knowledge of and experience using
Electronic Health Records (EHR). Post job offer: CPR/BLS
certification, TB test, and annual flu shot (during flu season) are
required as a condition of employment, unless a medical/religious
accommodation request is provided and approved. Hepatitis B Vaccine
will be offered at no cost to employees, but it is not required.
NATIVE PREFERENCE Preference in hiring is given to either the most
qualified applicant or a Native American candidate who meets the
minimum qualifications. When two (2) or more Native American
candidates have comparable qualifications, the following order of
preference shall apply: (1) Members of Shingle Springs Band of
Miwok Indians; (2) Spouses or domestic partners (certified through
Tribal Court) of members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians;
(3) Parents of children of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok
Indians; (4) All other documented Native Americans; (5) All other
applicants in accordance with Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 and
473. Applicants claiming Native preference must submit verification
of Indian eligibility.
