ABOUT USSip of Saigon's mission is to introduce Vietnamese cuisine and drinks to the community in an exciting, modern, and contemporary way. Specializing in drip coffee, banh mi sandwiches, salads, and baked goods, our cafe serves individuals in the morning through lunchtime. Our carefully curated menu offers a selection to a wide audience, while focusing on Vietnamese iced drip coffee and banh mi sandwiches. Working for our cafe means overseeing a variety of pastries, coffees, and teas, catering to the needs and tastes of the Sparks/Reno community. -Hours of operation: Monday- Friday 10AM-7PM, Saturday-Sunday 8:30AM-7PM, Closed on Tuesdays ----Cook PositionA Sip of Saigon cook oversees and executes all food preparations and orders. A cook displays skill in marinating, grilling, vegetable cuts, pastry reheating, and assembly of sandwiches and salads. This position requires clear organization of tasks, speed in carrying out orders, and strict following of health and sanitation guidelines. A Sip of Saigon cook is passionate and eager in providing modern Vietnamese cuisine to our community that is fresh, authentic, and of utmost quality.This Position Requires: -

  • Previous experience in food/drinks.
  • Knowledge on cooking fundamentals: knife cuts, temperatures, seasonings, cooking times, etc. -
  • Food Safety certification.
  • Knowledge on proper sanitary measures.
  • Full ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to lift loads up to 40 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Positivity and motivation towards serving the finest quality to guests!This Position's Responsibilities:
    • Prepare meat marinades, vegetable washing and cutting, sauces, and garnishes.
    • Reheat pastries and baked goods to perfection each morning.
    • Package salads and sauces.
    • Make noodle bowls and assemble fresh banh mi sandwiches to order.
    • Cook meat to precise temperatures.
    • Operate multiple machinery including: fryer, charbroil grill, vegetable dicer, etc.
    • Follow health and sanitation measures.
    • Maintain a clean workstation and dish-area.
    • Clean and maintain cooking equipment.
    • Sanitize all workspaces and equipment.
    • Communicate with manager on food inventory.The Perks:
