Job Description:
Our manufacturing client is currently seeking a Human Resources
Business Partner for their small plant in the Reno NV area. This
position will be an HR department of one and will develop and
implement and manage company policy and procedures. Manage all
functional areas within responsibility to include employee
relations, salary administration, payroll, benefits, training, and
staffing.
Make recommendations that encompass trends and new developments
within the human resources function. Works independently and makes
decisions that are in the best interest of the organization.
This position reports directly to the HR Director and will have the
ability to develop into a higher level role with good performance.
This job will have the following responsibilities:Understand key
business issues and manage HR strategies for the plant, ensuring
consistency with the rest of the Company.Partner with the
organization to enhance business results by enabling a positive
culture and an increased level of employee engagement.Manage and
influence change and innovation that advance the business.Act as a
change agent in support of various plant and organizational process
improvement efforts.Foster an environment focused on promoting
enhanced organizational efficiency, communication and
understanding.Interact with managers and plant personnel on a daily
basis to ensure HR solutions are implemented and results are
achieved.
Work closely with plant management partnering with them to resolve
critical people and business issues.Capable of handling recruiting
for diverse plant positions employing innovative and creative
sourcing/recruiting techniques.Plan and conduct new employee
orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.Coach
and counsel managers/supervisors on developing and maintaining a
proactive employee relations atmosphere and an open and positive
work culture.Consult, recommend, and identify organizational
development and learning needs.
Work with the management team to identify employee development
needs and necessary resources.Provide training and work with the
management team to ensure they are implemented and understood in a
bilingual manufacturing environment.Identify legal requirements and
government reporting regulations affecting human resources
functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in
compliance.Provide leadership on the performance management and
appraisal process.Implement a consistent and defensible process for
fairly dealing with disciplinary issues in order to protect the
Company's interests. Investigate employee concerns, evaluates and
offers possible resolution, and provide work-related advice,
guidance and direction to resolve employee relations issues.Prepare
employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct
exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.Maintain
accuracy and completeness of all personnel files.Maintain OSHA Logs
-- this includes working in conjunction with the insurance company
and the plant management to reduce accidents and provide a safe
work environment.Manage, implement, monitor and observe the
Company's safety procedures and policies at all times.Lead plant
wide safety meetings, initiatives, programs, etc.Investigate
accidents and prepare reports for insurance carrier.Project lead
for all employee functions (e.g. plant communication
meetings/events, birthdays, etc.)Represent organization at
personnel-related hearings and investigations.Qualifications &
Requirements:Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required. Will
accept equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.At
least 1 to 3 years of Human Resource experience in a fast paced,
changing environment preferably with a manufacturing company and
experience in recruiting. Ability to collect data, solve practical
problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.Ability to maintain a professional and
positive image in any situation using good judgment.Ability to use
office software, including Word processing, Spreadsheets,
Databases, Slide Presentations, Internet browsers, E-mail, and
business systems softwareMust be able to adjust schedule to
accommodate all shifts
