The Tesla Technical Training Instructor - Mechatronics will take responsibility for developing courses, mentoring Technicians and Engineers in areas of technical knowledge focusing on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems, and also includes a combination of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering. To include procedures, and promoting excellence in Maintenance and Engineering skills.Responsibilities: Develop basic and advanced technical content on a wide variety of material for a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems, Examples of these Multidisciplinary systems include a combination of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, control, and product engineering. Automation equipment systems which include: Sensors and Actuators, discrete and integrated systems operation, mechanical and electrical fundamentals of equipment operation, discrete and integrated system troubleshooting, Closed-loop process control, Machine Vision, failure analysis, and system communication and troubleshooting. Knowledge of: methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in both Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and repair of all auto manufacturing automation equipment and processes. Deliver Technical Training courses in classroom and field settings using a variety of presentation formats including Instructor-Led, Facilitative group learning, active hands-on learning, and functional assessments. Provide an evaluation of courses with written and hands-on assessments. Provide comprehensive tracking of each Student's completed and required training in Tesla specific Learning Management software system.Requirements: Extensive experience with manufacturing automation systems to include robotics, PLC, VFD, Conveyors, Sensors, and Actuators and Control systems. Extensive presentation skills with diverse advanced technical content as described above. Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers within the Training, Maintenance, and Engineering organizations. Strong analytical problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with hardware, tools, instruments, and methods applicable to manufacturing robotics processes. Uses instructional media such as audio-visual (video, PowerPoint, YouTube. etc.) and hands-on equipment Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Experience with environmental and safety requirements including the NFPA 70E. Strong ability to work in cross-functional groups from diverse technical and experience backgrounds. Skilled with common workplace and database software (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment. Occasional travel (approximately 10% annually) to develop emerging content on new equipment used in the manufacturing process. Familiarity with Objective-based training theory, ADDIE process, and functional assessment settings a plus. Familiarity or expertise with Learning Management Systems a plus. Perform other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on maintenance or engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with expertise in a wide variety of technical subjects specializing in networks, PLC's and controls programming.
