ResponsibilitiesThis Surgical/Open Heart Nurse Educator
opportunity is part time @ 20 hours per week, offers full benefits
and a convenient day shift schedule.
Northern Nevada Health System is a regional multi-facility system
that has excelled at offering quality care to residents of the
greater Truckee Meadows. We have many locations across the region
and in our rural communities. Northern Nevada Medical Center, a
124-bed acute care hospital in Sparks, is our flagship provider. A
second hospital, Sierra Medical Center, is currently under
construction and is scheduled to open in 2022. Sierra Medical
Center will be the first full-service hospital built in the region
in over a century.
We also provide primary care services and a wide range of specialty
care through Northern Nevada Medical Group. Our providers have
locations throughout Reno, Sparks, Fallon and Bishop to serve the
community.
In addition, patients can receive a variety of outpatient surgical
services at Quail Surgical and Pain Management Center.

Surgical/Open Heart Nurse EducatorJob Summary:The Surgical/Open
Heart Nurse Educator is responsible for providing initial
education, training and competency assessment of newly hired
nurses. In coordination with hospital leaders, the position is
responsible for the ongoing continuing education necessary to
maintain required competencies for all disciplines. Instructor for
American Heart Association Training Programs (BLS, ACLS, PALS).
Assists the Director of Education with the development of
Continuing Education Programs. This position will assist in system
wide education with a focus on education related to critical care
areas. Critical care areas can include intensive care,
telemetry/cardiac, and emergency departments.Qualifications
