Prepares products for shipping and routes shipments using the most efficient means available to guarantee accuracy and customer satisfaction.Other Job Duties:Determines most efficient method of shipmentAssists with designing and fabricating of packaging and cratingPrepares shipments by utilizing techniques such as bulk packaging, palletizing, crating and dedicated containersUses shipping documents to pull and stage product for shipmentVerifies type (model) and quantity per consignee requestManifests written or electronic documents for shipment processingProcesses shipments using waybills and long or short bill of lading formsProcesses shipments by utilizing small parcel systems and bill of lading softwareVerifies type and amount product to be received and stockedConducts cycle and audit counts for inventory controlMust have basic knowledge of freight terms, dimensional weight, and international exporting requirementInstructs training of basic safety, ISO, and shipping topics and proceduresIs able to use computers, electronic devices and window-based programsAll other duties as assignedSkills/Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Ability to safely operate industrial lifting equipment and perform preventative maintenance checks and services. Ability to safely operate hand tools to build wooden crates or secure products. Forklift certification a plus.Computer Skills:Familiar with Microsoft Word, experience with shipping software including UPS software and scanning software.Language Skills:Ability to read, understand, and write in English and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to read maps, basic graphs, and flow charts. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several tangible variables in standardized situations.
