Job Description:
Commnet Broadband is a leading wireless communications company
serving rural communities throughout the US. We are seeking an
experienced, motivated, professional Tower Crew Foreman to join our
innovative, fast-paced and dynamic team environment.This position
reports directly to the Network Operations Manager and will lead a
crew of 2 to 3 personnel. The incumbent will provide a full range
of responsibilities that include but are not limited to: the
maintenance of tower mounted assets, periodic preventive
maintenance routines, quality control inspections on new builds,
and trouble shooting and diagnosis of faulty tower mounted
components. This position will continually participate in ongoing
efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, company profit and
personal job mastery. All work shall be conducted in a safe,
efficient and professional manner.This is a chance for an
experienced, self-motivated tower Foreman to take ownership of a
wireless communications network with responsibility for its health
and reliability. Commnet's RF network includes CDMA/UMTS/LTE
cellular technologies, microwave and other wireless
technologies.Essential Job Duties and Expectations:The Tower Crew
Foreman must be able to lead a crew of 2-3 tower climbers and solve
team issues. Good work ethic, positive attitude, reliability and a
team mentality is an absolute must. Ensure team performs assigned
duties in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company
and OSHA guidelines.Responsible for maximizing crew efficiency with
a focus on safety and productivity. Ultimately responsible and
accountable for all activities of the crew, equipment and company
resources.Preventive and corrective maintenance on the following
equipment: antenna systems, fiber optics, DC power, RF transmission
path and microwave communication equipmentMaintains antenna system
maintenance by troubleshooting faults through VSWR and return loss
checks, PIM testing and hands on inspections and repairWilling to
travel 2-10 days at a time. Ability to be on-call and work overtime
to include Saturdays, Sundays and evening hoursResponsible for
documenting all maintenance and repair activityMaintains vehicles
and other company assets by following periodic maintenance
schedule, visual inspections and adhering to relevant
policies/proceduresPerform call through testing to verify proper
system operationMinimum Requirements:The Tower Crew Foreman must
have the ability to climb towers, be able to lift 50 lbs., and be
cable of working up to 12 hours on occasion. Frequent performance
of duties in outside weather conditions w/ occasional exposure to
inclement weather conditionsUnderstanding of operating principles
of RF transmitters and receivers, AC and DC power and grounding
system design, testing, and maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot
and replace components utilizing vendor-approved methodsKnowledge
of proper rigging techniques and rated capacities of gear that is
utilized.Experience with various test equipment, such as antenna
sweep test gear (JDSU), multi meter, spectrum analyzer (JDSU), PIM
tester (Anritsu), and the ability to understand test results and
use those results to identify faulty components.Knowledge of OSHA
safety guidelines and practical use of these guidelines as well as
all other applicable safety laws and policies preferred. Must
maintain and enforce the safety program, ensure daily job site
safety plans are reviewed and followed. Ensure crew recognizes and
performs duties within OSHA safety guidelines as well as all
applicable safety laws and policies. Immediately stops work when
unsafe work practices or conditions exist.Certification or the
ability to obtain certification on the following areas: Tower
climber and rescue, CPR/First aid, RF awareness and safety, OSHA
10, PIM and winter survivalPass preliminary and random drug
screening, criminal background check and driving background check.
Possession of a valid driver license.Operate and verify proper
temporary generator wiring and connectionsStrong computer skills
including a working knowledge Windows OS/ Microsoft officeGood
communication skills, both oral and writtenMaintain and track all
assigned company assets including trucks, trailers, test equipment,
tools, PPE, safety kits, and materials.Management of ordering
materials and equipment, including truck stocking to pre-determined
levels.Education and Experience Requirements:High School
Diploma/GED5 years tower climbing experience with 1 year
supervisory related experience.Desired Qualifications:Aviat, Dragon
Wave, Ceragon, and Radwin microwave knowledgeManagement/leadership
