Join our team! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber. * Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

* Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices

* Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

* Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

* Experience applying MIL-STD-882E, ARP4761, or similar processes to the development of systems, hardware, or software.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances


* Software development or coding experience

* Experience using DO-178 and/or DO-254 for design development

* Experience with agile development

* Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink or similar

* Experience with creation of a Hazard List (HL), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Common Cause Analysis (CCA), and the System Safety Assessment (SSA)

* Experience mitigating safety risk through design changes, fault detection, usage restrictions, and training

* Experience in aircraft systems development

* Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate

* Experience working with DoD customers


This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Estimated Starting Salary: 109,592.82 - 150,690.13 USD Annually
