Job Description:

the design, development and manufacturing of gas generation
systems, precision compressor solutions, and cryogenic cooling
technologies for critical applications in Marine, Aerospace, Land,
Energy, Industrial, Medical, and Critical Infrastructure markets.
Founded in 1878, the company is headquartered in Benicia, CA, and
operates additional facilities in Sparks, NV and Rockville,
CA.Position SummaryThe Director of Quality (DoQ) is a senior
Department leader responsible for all strategic and tactical facets
of the RIX quality system. The DoQ collaborates with other
functional department leaders to increase production efficiency and
throughput, by eliminating waste in the value stream. The DoQ is
responsible for Department administration including personnel and
financial management. The DoQ is a senior advocate for a continuous
improvement culture at RIX Industries. These responsibilities cover
both RIX facilities (Sparks, NV and Benicia,
CA).ResponsibilitiesServes as a senior advisor to strategic,
corporate planning and management.Establishes a team culture of
accountability for sound work planning, high productivity, and
fulfillment of commitments, while building morale.Leads the
conception and fulfillment of strategies, and tactics, aimed at
preventing value stream failures and reducing process
variability.Directly manages the RIX Quality Team and all aspects
of the Quality Management System.Leads a culture of efficient
problem solving, to expedite effective resolutions and to prevent
recurrence.Implements and monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
to baseline current process performance, to create targeting for
improvement, and to check the efficacy of process changes.Develops,
maintains and manages Departmental plans, budgets and schedules
ensuring progress toward strategic and annual business objectives.
Provides senior policy and process leadership over the integration
of Production Readiness development as a core requirement in the
RIX New Product Introduction process. Enhances collaboration with
all RIX functions.Perform all other duties in the best interest of
the company or as directed by the Chief Operations Officer. Minimum
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or Quality
related field; or equivalent combination of education and work
experience. Ten years' experience in formal team supervision,
including work planning, resource allocating, progress monitoring,
and team development.Fifteen years' experience operating within
complex manufacturing and supply chain workflows.Five years'
experience managing Quality Systems that satisfy the requirements
of ISO9001 and/or AS9100. Fluent at interpreting manufacturing
drawings, including GD&T drawing requirements.Working knowledge
of inspection laboratory equipment and practices.Practiced
experience in strategic/annual planning, budgeting and
scheduling.Knowledge and practiced application of basic accounting,
budgeting and scheduling processes. Working knowledge of advanced
ERP systems, manufacturing planning and electronic workflow
control.Demonstrated skill developing, deploying and leveraging key
performance indicators (KPI) to promote efficiency gains.Well
practiced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
principles.Thorough knowledge of best practice problem solving
techniques (RCCA, A3, 5Y, Fishbone, etc). Demonstrated experience
managing continuous improvement and change management.Exceptional
communications skills, including group presentations.Ability to
travel up to 25% of the time.Ability to balance multiple projects &
processes simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to
detail.Ability to understand the use and application of Gas
Compressors and Gas Separation Equipment.Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.1A
successful track record ofProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
(Access, EXCEL, Word, Project, PowerPoint). Preferred:Working
knowledge of the Sales & Operations Planning process.Training,
experience or education in Statistical Quality Techniques.

EnvironmentThis position is regularly exposed to the following
conditions:Manufacturing, warehouse and office environmentsWhile
working near moving equipment, mechanical parts and lift trucks;
must have the ability to follow safe operating procedures.May be
exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals.Must have the
following physical abilities:Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend,
stretch, reach, and lift.Ability to lift 50 pounds
regularly.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or
